Green tea is the national drink of the Chinese, but due to unique taste and many benefits, has found many aficionados all around the world. It promotes weight-loss and has anti-aging benefits and can be drunk anytime throughout the day. All types of tea are produced from a plant called “Camellia Sinensis”. What makes different teas is their drying and oxidation time in processing. For green tea, after the leaves are plucked, they are left to wither and then immediately steamed or pan-fried to stop the oxidation process. It prevents the leaves from turning brown and helps them stay green.
Benefits: Green tea compared to other types, is less processed and in turn more nourishing. It contains antioxidants, vitamin B, magnesium, manganese, caffeine, etc. Due to the presence of antioxidants in its compound, it provides many benefits and is recommended at least one cup a day. Other than weight losing properties, it is anti-aging and recommended at any time throughout the day. Black tea has caffeine, but green tea has only a small percentage, which consequently makes it more soothing.
