White Tea

White tea is a luxury tea with many aficionados that comes from the incipient buds and immature tea leaves of the Camellia plant. The buds are covered in white hair that makes them stand out next to other leaves. They are picked in spring when the buds have not fully opened and are steamed before drying. Tea buds have hairs that turn white when they dry out, featuring a velvety silver color. Thus, it is called “White Tea”, even though when brewed it is pale yellow. It is very low in caffeine and tastes sweet. After harvest, it is left to wither for two to three days and is naturally oxidized within two days. White tea is the most expensive tea product. It has no chemicals and no additives.

It has the least amount of caffeine and is recommended to drink any time throughout the day.
